15-Minute Consultation

What this is

A 15-minute consultation is a brief, structured conversation designed to help autistic adults (or those exploring whether they may be autistic) gain initial clarity about their situation and possible next steps.
The consultation space is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming practice. Our goal is to increase clarity, fit, and sustainable functioning.
This option is ideal for individuals who:
  • Want to ask targeted questions before committing to ongoing services
  • Are unsure whether they are seeking therapy, consultation, or assessment
  • Need guidance about navigating diagnosis pathways
  • Want perspective on workplace, relational, or healthcare communication challenges
  • Are looking for neurodiversity-affirming professional input
This consultation is not therapy and not an evaluation. It is a focused opportunity to orient, clarify, and plan.

What we can do in 15-minutes

Because time is brief, consultations are structured and goal-directed. We may:
  • Clarify what you are hoping will change or improve
  • Identify the most relevant service pathway (therapy, assessment elsewhere, coaching, accommodations planning, etc.)
  • Discuss whether autism assessment is likely to be helpful in your situation
  • Explore a specific communication or life challenge at a high level
  • Identify practical next steps or resources
Many people leave the consultation with:
  • A clearer understanding of their options
  • Language to describe their needs
  • A short action plan
  • Greater confidence about what to do next
To support ethical and effective care, the consultation does not include:
  • Diagnostic assessment or screening conclusions
  • Ongoing therapeutic work
  • Crisis intervention
  • Detailed history-taking or full intake
  • Written reports or documentation
If it becomes clear that more in-depth support is needed, we can discuss appropriate next steps.
This consultation is designed primarily for:
  • Autistic adults
  • Adults questioning whether they may be autistic
  • Adults navigating late identification or diagnosis decisions
  • Professionals seeking neurodiversity-affirming perspective on a specific case or interaction
  • Parents of older teens/adults seeking guidance about pathways and resources
To make the most of the consultation:
  • Think about one or two main questions you want answered
  • Be ready to briefly describe your current situation
  • Consider what outcome would make the consultation feel worthwhile
Some people find it helpful to write down their questions ahead of time.
  • Length: 15 minutes
